Leaked paperwork had revealed that Edu directed the Workplace of the Accountant-Common of the Federation to pay the sum of N585.18 million into a non-public account owned by one Oniyelu Bridget.
The ministry claimed Bridget at the moment serves because the Mission Accountant, Grants for Susceptible Teams in Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Lagos and Ogun states.
However the Accountant-Common of the Federation, Dr. Oluwatoyin Madein, rejected Edu’s directive and refused to pay the stated sum of N585.18 million.
Following the outrage that occasioned the scandal, Tinubu suspended the minister, whereas ordering the Financial and Monetary Crimes Fee, EFCC, to completely examine her.
Reacting to Edu’s suspension, Bwala posted on X: “Once more @officialABAT is exhibiting that when there’s a credible substance in an allegation he’ll act in public curiosity. He has suspended the wonder pageant minister. Give it to him.
“What has clearly distinguished @officialABAT from his predecessor @MBuhari is that Nigeria President doesn’t appear to be one ready to defend appointee caught along with his/her arms within the cookie’s jar ( not less than for now)
“But when anybody thinks this alleged corruption solely exists within the Humanitarian Ministry, that individual is clearly a comic.
“There seems to be a dedication cooked with a way of urgency by some corrupt appointees to pounce on our commonwealth like a bulldog that has discovered the final borne on the planet earth. It is a nationwide safety menace.”
