The Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has written to the Rivers State House of Assembly, inviting them to a meeting at the Governor’s Office, Government House.
The letter, signed by Tammy Danagogo, Secretary to the State Government (SSG), and dated 7 March 2025, was addressed to Rt. Hon Martin Amaewhula and other members of the Assembly.
The letter, which was made public on Sunday, 9 March, states that the agenda includes the provision of a suitable space for the Assembly’s sittings, payment of all outstanding remuneration or allowances of the Honourable members, presentation of the Budget and related matters, as well as any other issues deemed necessary to chart a way forward in the best interest of the state.
The meeting is scheduled for Monday, 10 March 2025, at 10:00 am.

The letter reads in part: “I hereby write in furtherance of His Excellency’s promise, stated in my letter dated 5 March 2025, to notify you that His Excellency has received the Supreme Court judgment and has therefore directed me to invite you and your colleagues – the Honourable members of the Rivers State House of Assembly.”
“Many thanks, Sir, as we look forward to your kind attendance, with a view to charting the way forward in the interest of the good people of Rivers State,” the letter concluded.
It remains to be seen whether the Assembly members will honour the invitation, given their stance, which currently places them at an advantage over the Governor and has seen them take control of the unfolding political saga.
