The Katsina State Government has commended the Air component of Fasan Yamma Operation Northwest and the Nigeria Army’s 17 Brigade for a successful joint operation that neutralized scores of bandits and dismantled the camps of bandits’ kingpins at Bichi Hill.
Arogidigba Global Journal gathered that the troops acted on credible intelligence and precision ISR missions.
The operation, conducted Thursday, targeted the hideouts of bandits’ kingpins, Manore and Lalbi, identified as bandit leaders terrorizing communities across Danmusa, Safana and Kankara LGAs of the State.
The offensive began with airstrikes that destroyed the camps, forcing the bandits to flee from their hideouts.
According to a resident of the area, Ismailia Ibrahim, the military operatives moved into the forest with full force and started attacking the notorious bandits.
“We have been slaves to the notorious bandits’ kingpins for a number of years, and we did whatever they demanded from us due to the fear of being attacked,” he added.
It was also gathered that the Army troops then engaged the fleeing criminals in a gun battle, while air platforms delivered follow-up strikes, neutralizing scores of bandits and destroying their facilities.
This military joint forces success underscores the unwavering resolve to restore stability in Katsina and the entire North West region.
