Leaders of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Ibadan South East Local Government have reaffirmed their loyalty to Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, while declaring their support for the party’s governorship candidate, Abimbola Adekanmbi, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The declaration was made during a meeting of the apex leadership of the party held on Saturday at the Ibadan South East Local Government Secretariat, Mapo, Ibadan.

The meeting, attended by party leaders and key stakeholders, commended Governor Makinde for what they described as his remarkable achievements in infrastructure development and governance, noting that his administration had positively impacted residents of Ibadan South East Local Government and Oyo State as a whole.
According to the stakeholders, the governor’s projects have transformed the state and laid the foundation for sustainable development across critical sectors.
In a communique issued at the end of the meeting, the leaders unanimously pledged their continued support for the governor and his administration.
“The governor has done well for us in Ibadan South East Local Government and across Oyo State. He has transformed the state through landmark projects and implemented legacy initiatives that will outlive this generation.
“We have every reason to reaffirm our loyalty to him and continue to support his administration. His infrastructural development programmes have improved the lives of our people, and he deserves our unwavering support.
“All leaders and stakeholders of the APM in Ibadan South East Local Government are solidly behind him. We will continue to support him and also back his aspiration to become President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Political office holders, party leaders, members and other critical stakeholders in the local government are united in this resolve. He remains our leader, and we will continue to stand by him,” the communiqué stated.
The stakeholders also unanimously endorsed the APM governorship candidate, Mr. Abimbola Adekanmbi, assuring him of their total commitment and promising to mobilise party members and eligible voters across the local government to ensure his victory in the 2027 governorship election.
They expressed confidence in Adekanmbi’s leadership qualities and pledged to work tirelessly towards strengthening the party’s grassroots support ahead of the polls.
Those who attended the meeting included Hon. Dare Adeleke; Hon. Kunmi Adedina; Prof. Dahood Sangodoyin, Commissioner for Energy; Rep. Abass Adigun Agboworin, representing Ibadan North East/Ibadan South East Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives; Hon. Akeem Ademola Ige, Chairman, Oyo State Local Government Staff Pension Board; Hon. Oluwole Alawode, Chairman of Ibadan South East Local Government; and Hon. Abiodun Adedoja (Ekolo), Special Adviser to the Governor on Energy Security.
Others were Alhaji (Hon.) Yusuf Ali Temitope (Supreme), Full-Time Commissioner, Oyo State Local Government Service Commission; Hon. Modiu Opeyemi Akande, representing Ibadan South East State Constituency I; Hon. Yinka Omikunle, representing Ibadan South East State Constituency II; Engr. Sulaiman Adesina (World Best), immediate past PDP Chairman in the local government, and Hon. Olajide Oluwole, the incumbent PDP Chairman in Ibadan South East Local Government.
