The former Vice President and African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has urged registered voters to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Atiku made the call in a post on his X handle on Wednesday, saying it was directed at Nigerians of all ages amid economic hardship and insecurity.
He said many parents were struggling to feed their children, while pensioners faced difficult choices between buying medicine and food. He added that young people spent much of their earnings on transport, rent and other basic needs.

Atiku also noted that many families lived in fear of kidnapping and attacks.
He said no family should have to contend with hunger and insecurity at the same time, adding that hardship should not become the future inherited by the next generation.
“If you are a registered voter, please go and collect your PVC. Hold on to it. It is your voice, your choice and your peaceful power to demand change,” he said.
Atiku said he would work to make life more affordable and restore security if elected. He urged Nigerians across generations to unite and vote for dignity, safety and hope in the 2027 elections.
