Ahead of the next general elections, a forum for women in the All Progressives Congress (APC), The Tinubu Torchbearers (TTB), has revealed plans to hold weekly intercessory prayers for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
National Women Leader of the party, Dr Mary Idele, disclosed this on Tuesday at the official commissioning of the TTB National Secretariat.
Alile said the prayer sessions will be led by ordained female ministers (OFM), Royal Sisters, prayer networks, and the Northern Muslim Women Assembly (NMWA).
She noted that the intercessory prayers have become imperative as the President needs spiritual guidance.

She said: “Distinguished guests, one of the key activities that will take place at this Secretariat is the organisation of weekly intercessory prayers for our nation and for the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu throughout the campaign period and beyond.
These prayer sessions will be led by ordained female ministers (OFM) Royal Sisters, prayer networks, and the Northern Muslim Women Assembly (NMWA). This spiritual engagement reflects our collective belief that while strategies and policies are important, divine guidance and support remain essential for national progress and success.”
On the objective of the group, the APC Women Leader said, “The Tinubu Torchbearers is fundamentally a grassroots mobilisation vehicle established to amplify, communicate, and resonate the achievements of the Renewed Hope administration among ordinary Nigerians.
“We must continue to oil the grassroots. The people must see the light. They must hear the message. They must understand the achievements. They must become active participants in the Renewed Hope journey. Most importantly, they must deliver overwhelming support for the vision of a better Nigeria.”
Aside from serving as a venue for prayer sessions, Dr Alile revealed that a Situation Room with state-of-the-art facilities will be opened “as a strategic election-monitoring and coordination centre capable of tracking developments across Nigeria’s 176,846 polling units.”
Turning to the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, who was represented by the Minister of Women Affairs, Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, the ruling party Women Leader assured her of the determination of the TTB to commit itself to vigorous campaigns.
“Your Excellency, we are proudly shining the Torch of Renewed Hope across the grassroots. The message of the achievements, policies, and programmes of the President is reaching communities, wards, local governments, and states throughout the country.
“The commissioning of this National Secretariat is therefore both symbolic and strategic. This Secretariat will serve as the operational hub of the Tinubu Torchbearers movement nationwide. It will coordinate, administer, monitor, and drive the activities of TTB across all levels of engagement.”
The Minister of Women Affairs performed the official commissioning on behalf of the First Lady.
