The Adamawa State chapter of African Democratic Congress, ADC, has called for a strong and united national coalition of well-meaning Nigerians to dislodge the ruling All Progress Congress, APC, in the 2027 election.
Leaders and members of the ADC in Adamawa State said at a meeting in Yola that the âmisruleâ of the APC-led Federal Government ought to inspire a national political realignment to push the party out of power.
The 2023 governorship candidate of the ADC in Adamawa State, Malam Muhammad Shuwa, said progressive politicians across Nigeria need to unite under a formidable coalition to free the nation from the âcrippling gripâ of the APC.
Speaking at a âConvergence of Coalition Partnersâ convened by the ADC in Yola, Shuwa said the planned coalition is not just about unseating the APC in 2027 but mostly intended to launch a full-scale national reset.
According to him, the reset will include tackling insecurity, ending corruption, revitalizing the economy, and restoring public trust in governance.
âThis coalition is about reclaiming Nigeria. Itâs not just about power; itâs about purpose. We must unite and offer Nigerians a viable alternative â one that will uproot the culture of mismanagement and hardship entrenched by the APC over the years,â Shuwa said.
Also speaking, a retired Comptroller of Immigration and Sarauniyar Guyaku, Gombi, Hajiya Larai Zakari, expressed optimism that the ADC-led coalition would triumph in 2027.
âThis coalition, under the leadership of ADC will succeed,â she asserted, praying for unity among coalition members to âsave Nigeria from further deteriorationâ.
Adamawa State ADC chairman, Shehu Kambile, said the occasion was designed to unite key political actors in a strategic dialogue on the critical issues bedeviling the nation and to forge a unified front ahead of the 2027 elections.
âOur mission is to build a powerful, people-centered alliance that will rescue Nigeria from the stranglehold of bad governance. The time to act is now,â Kambile charged.
