Borno Governor, Babagana Zulum, has commissioned three newly built mega schools and reaffirmed his commitment to enhancing education standards in the state.
Zulum made this known on Tuesday in Maiduguri while commissioning the Mairi Mega School, Molai, and Muna garage Mega Schools.
He noted that educating children, especially the vulnerable, is crucial to reviving the state.
According to him, “The mega schools will reduce the number of out-of-school children in Borno State by 70%, from 2.2 million to less than 700,000.
“We must provide quality education to our children, making them useful to the state and country,” Zulum added.

The schools are part of Borno’s 25-Year Development Plan, focusing on priorities such as education, health, agriculture, and infrastructure.
Zulum urged parents to send their children to school to secure the state’s future and prevent future insurgencies.
The administration has established vocational training centers, ICT centers, and empowerment initiatives for women and vulnerable children.
Bicycles have also been provided to students for easy transportation to encourage learning.
