The Commandant of Zamfara State Road Traffic Agency, ZAROTA, MB Musa, has urged road users to prevent hazards and ensure safety on Zamfara roads.
The Commandant appealed to the public to cease dumping sand, soil, concrete, or waste materials on roads, saying that the appeal is aimed at reducing the risks of accidents and maintaining the cleanliness and safety of Zamfara roads.
The announcement was made by ZAROTA’s Public Relations Officer, Saleh Kwaren Shinkafi, emphasizing the importance of safe practices and compliance with traffic laws to foster a secure road environment.
The announcement particularly called on individuals who wash motorcycles, tricycles, or cars on public roads to cease these activities as they violate existing regulations.
The Commandant also highlighted that street vendors and traders who place goods on roads and pedestrian walkways should promptly relocate their businesses, as these pathways are meant exclusively for public passage and vehicular movement.
He encouraged road users to cooperate with the ZAROTA Commandant and called on all motorists and residents to support the agency’s initiatives by observing its guidelines.
He reiterated that ZAROTA personnel are dedicated to their duties and committed to upholding the agency’s integrity. He also called for the registration of vehicles within the state to avoid being arrested, whether commercial or private.
Musa thanked the State Governor, Dauda Lawal, for his efforts in helping the agency achieve its success, and the good people of the state for cooperating with the agency.
He stated that any individual found violating ZAROTA’s regulations will face disciplinary action as outlined by law, underscoring the agency’s commitment to enforcing road safety standards across the state.
