The project known as the Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) is supporting the Zamfara State government in recruiting two thousand (2,000) dedicated and qualified school teachers.

This information was revealed on Thursday by the committee responsible for recruiting teachers in core science subjects, which is led by the chairman of the Civil Service Commission, Aliyu Tukur, with Mallam Wadatau Madawaki, the Commissioner of Education and Technology, serving as the deputy chairman.

The committee stated that the recruitment of teachers aligns with the AGILE project’s mandate to improve education for girls in the state.

During a radio program, the committee explained that the recruitment of school teachers would be conducted in batches to ensure a smooth, thorough, and acceptable process in the state.

“The recruitment exercise is in batches with 500 teachers each batch, first, second, third and fourth batch to ensure credible recruitment processes with emphasis on English, chemistry, physics, biology, mathematics and entrepreneurship”, the committee stated.

The committee lauded Governor Dauda Lawal for declaring state of emergency on education and AGILE project to uplift and support girls’ child education in the state.

Also speaking, the permanent secretary Multi-sectoral Donors Agency and AGILE project state coordinator Hajiya Saadatu Abdu Gusau assured to work tirelessly for the success of AGILE project mandate in the state.

She further assured that the recruitment of school teachers would be on merit with the emphasis on recruiting more women teachers for more support to girls’ child education.
