Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, on Monday, visited the suspended Senator representing Bauchi Central district in the red chamber, Abdul Ningi.
Atiku, TRIBUNE ONLINE gathered, visited the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lawmaker at his residence in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
In a post via his X handle on Monday, the former VP stressed the importance of preserving the integrity of government institutions if the interests of Nigerians are to be better served and the envisaged development attained.
During the solidarity visit, Atiku assured Sen. Ningi that he is not alone in the battle that earned him a suspension in the Senate.
Recall Ningi was suspended for three months after the Senate debated his interview with the BBC where he alleged that the budget passed by the National Assembly for the 2024 fiscal year is N25 trillion while the one being implemented by the Presidency is N28.7 trillion.
