The Acting Chief Medical Director, CMD, of the newly established Wukari University Teaching Hospital in Taraba State, Professor Daniel Zanyu Egah, has called on the federal government to urgently provide a takeoff grant for the hospital.
Making the call during a conversation with journalists on Tuesday in the state, he highlighted the critical role of federal support in sustaining the hospital’s operations.
Professor Egah emphasized that with federal support, the hospital could reach its full potential, providing quality healthcare services to residents of Taraba State and beyond.
The Acting CMD, who appreciated Governor Agbu Kefas for his contribution to the hospital, urged the federal government to make funds available to the health institution.
He said the federal government’s funding is critical to the hospital’s ongoing development, noting that the number of patients seeking care at the hospital has steadily increased, with 400 deliveries recorded between January and May 2024.
”The surge in patient numbers connotes the growing importance of the teaching hospital in the Taraba healthcare landscape.
“My vision for the hospital is to create an institution known for its medical excellence and to serve as a referral centre for other healthcare facilities both within and outside Taraba State,” he said.
