Ahead of the forthcoming inauguration of the Zamfara state Community Protection Guards (CPG), the state Commissioner of Information and Culture, Mannir Haidara has attributed the reason for the establishment of the community guards in the state to restore peace, combat the scourge of banditry.
Addressing newsmen on Monday evening at the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Press Centre in Gusau, the state commissioner of Information revealed that all necessary measures to inaugurate the guards were put in place.
“I am pleased to inform you that all necessary arrangements have been put in place to ensure the success of the inauguration in the state.
According to the Commissioner, the importance of the CPG cannot be overstated, as it serves as a crucial component in our ongoing efforts to restore peace and combat the scourge of banditry in Zamfara.
“The significance of the CPG lies in its grassroots approach to security, empowering local communities to take ownership of their safety and security”.
“We humbly request the support of all media outfits, Your cooperation in spreading awareness will greatly contribute to success and further amplify the message of peace and security across the state”.
“We appeal to the people of Zamfara to extend their support and hospitality to the distinguished guests, let us demonstrate our unity and resolve in the face of adversity”.
He lauded the efforts of the state Governor Dauda Lawal, for his visionary leadership in initiating the Community Protection Guards.”His commitment to the safety and well- being of our people is truly commendable”. He appreciated.
