The Elerinmo of Erinmo Ijesa, Oba (Dr) Michael Adeagbo Odunayo Ajayi, has said that the need to create opportunities for higher education and a sustainable future for the youth informed his resolve to pay the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) fees of 21 Senior Secondary School 3 (SS3) of Erinmo Grammar School.
He emphasised the need for prominent members of the community and stakeholders to provide support and necessary encouragement to the youth in the larger society in order to secure the future of the nation.
Describing the payment of the JAMB fees as part of his forthcoming 10th coronation anniversary, Oba Ajayi tasked the students to prepare adequately for their JAMB examination in order to gain entry into a higher institution of their choice.
While speaking at the ceremony, the monarch advised the students that education is the bedrock of any profession they wish to pursue, contending that it is not enough for them to sit in the examination hall but to listen to the JAMB officials who have come to acquaint them with the processes and use the advantage for their benefit.
Oba Ajayi, therefore, expressed hope that the beneficiaries would reward Erinmo town by preparing adequately for the examination and having outstanding results.
He also congratulated the students and wished them the best in their academic pursuits, while charging them to utilise the opportunity given to them well.
Oba Ajayi became the Elerinmo of Erinmoland, an ancient historical town in the Oriade Local Government Area of Osun State synonymous with its spiritually potent mountains, in July 2014.
