The Minister of State for Police Affairs, Hajia Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, has pointed out that the Ministry will collaborate with Finland’s public and private sectors to strengthen police marine operations, training, reforms, and resource mobilization that will facilitate effective and efficient policing in the country.
She stated this during a courtesy visit by the Finland Ambassador to Nigeria Ms. Peena Plyvanainen to the Headquarters of the Ministry in Abuja.
The Minister of State reiterated the focus of the ministry, in conjunction with stakeholders in harmonizing all previous police reform reports in line with the presidential directives.
In her words, “We are strengthening community policing and public trust in the Nigeria Police as well as enhanced technical and operational effectiveness of the Nigeria Police.
“She stated that the Ministry would explore any possible ways to partner with stakeholders and Finland’s public and private sectors for support, training, and resource mobilization that will improve surveillance systems, drones, and communication technologies to enhance the Force’s capability for real-time information gathering, effective response, and e-policing.
Earlier, the Finland Ambassador to Nigeria Ms. Peena Plyvanainen thanked the Minister for the warm welcome noting that was the first time she visited the Ministry of Police Affairs to look at the possible collaboration between both countries’ public and private sectors.
