Women promotion group, WILAN Global, has said its target is to raise 100,000 women in leadership by 2050.
Founder of the group, Abosede George-Ogan, in a statement, yesterday, said the goal reflects the organisation’s strong commitment to promoting women’s leadership on a global scale.
She said by giving women the necessary tools and resources, WILAN Global aims to create a new generation of female leaders that will drive positive change and innovation.
“Women’s leadership can lead to more sustainable families, communities, businesses, organisations, and nations.
“By setting this target, we are not only challenging ourselves, but also inspiring others to join us on this transformative journey. We believe by focusing on women in leadership in Nigeria, we can create a ripple effect that will inspire global change,” George-Ogan said.
She said the initiative will be particular on identifying and nurturing potential leaders from diverse backgrounds, ensuring inclusivity and broad representation.
The initiative includes mentorship programmes, leadership training, networking opportunities, and advocating gender equality. The efforts are designed to equip women with the skills, opportunities, and support they need to rise to leadership roles in various sectors, promoting more women in leadership in Nigeria and beyond.
She said WILAN Global will leverage its extensive network of partners, mentors, and supporters to provide comprehensive support to women leaders at every stage of their development.
“By fostering an environment of continuous learning and support, the organisation aims to create a strong pipeline of future leaders. A key part of the initiative is the establishment of a mentorship programme that connects aspiring women leaders with experienced professionals,” she said.
