The All Progressives Congress (APC) Jigawa State chapter has threatened to take action against any group attempting to create crises or factions within the party.
This was stated in a release signed by the party chairman, Hon. Aminu Sani Gumel, and issued to Arogidigba Global Journal.
According to the statement, “The attention of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Jigawa State chapter has been drawn to the activities of certain enemies of the party who are desperate to incite crisis within the party by launching smear campaigns against party leaders in the state.
“The party has been closely monitoring various posts on social media and mainstream media that show calculated attempts by some unscrupulous elements to create disturbances in our great party.
“These elements, who are not even card-carrying members of our party, are manipulating a few narrow-minded party members to further their self-serving agenda against the peace and stability of the party.”
The chairman added that the APC-led government in Jigawa State, under the leadership of Governor Malam Umar Namadi, reflects the values and continuity of the previous state administration led by Alhaji Muhammad Badaru Abubakar.
“The two leaders have the confidence of the party and are held in high regard. Their reputations are sacred to us and must be protected jealously.”
He further stated, “Jigawa APC will never allow any misguided element to create discomfort or a situation that might prevent the APC-led government from fulfilling its campaign promises in Jigawa State and Nigeria as a whole.”
“One such baseless, sponsored report against our leader, the Hon. Minister of Defense, Muhammad Badaru Abubakar, will be investigated, and appropriate action will be taken.”
The statement added that the faceless group, which has no record with the APC headquarters in Jigawa State, had leveled numerous false allegations against the minister, including accusations of anti-party activities.
The chairman warned that Jigawa APC would use all legal avenues to identify the group and its sponsors and take the necessary political and legal action.
Arogidigba Global Journal observed that some party members loyal to former Governor and Minister of Defense Muhammad Badaru Abubakar, as well as those loyal to Jigawa State Governor Malam Umar Namadi, have engaged in a political struggle that appears to be aimed at creating division between the two leaders.
