The Ondo State police command has confirmed the killing of a suspected cultist identified as Nasir Isiaka in Owo, the headquarters of Owo Local Government Area of the state.
The command, in a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Funmilayo Odunlami, said the 40-year-old suspected cultist was on the wanted list of the police before his killing.
Odunlami said, “The command can confirm the murder of one Nasir Isiaka, aged 40 years, a notorious cultist who has been on the police wanted list.”
According to the PPRO, “The police at A Division, Owo received a distress call that someone was shot at LA, Gbanasa area of Owo by two masked men, and on getting to the scene, the police discovered that the deceased was a cultist who participated in the End SARS protest.”
“The suspect attacked Uso police division and stole an AK-47 and bulletproof vest belonging to the police. He also participated in the killing of one Adedeji Rafiu,” the PPRO added.
Odunlami informed that the remains of the late Nasir have been deposited at the morgue by the police.
Additionally, the police stated that efforts are on top gear to apprehend those behind the dastardly act.
