The Think Big Scholarship scheme offers tuition fee scholarships of up to £13,000 per year of study, as well as one-off living cost bursaries of up to £3,000 to support prospective international students undertaking their first year of study at the University of Bristol.
Benefits
Scholarship awards for postgraduate international students are valued at £6,500, £13,000 and £26,000 per year and can only be used towards the cost of tuition fees.
Applicants may also be eligible to receive a £3,000 living cost bursary during their first year of study.
Requirements
You can apply if you:
- Are classed as an overseas student for fee purposes
- Have applied to start any one-year, full-time master’s programme, or one of our eligible two-year programmes, (MSc Social Work and MA Law), starting in September 2024.
You do not need to have an offer to study before submitting an international scholarship application.

- Successful applicants will be contacted on or before Friday 24 May 2024.
- Unsuccessful applicants will be notified shortly after.
Method of Application
Make sure you fill out the relevant form. We have collated some tips for you to help navigate the form when filling in your application:
- There is no save function, so you will need to complete the application form in one session. You will need to answer all required questions to move forward with the application – if you have not answered anything an error message will appear informing you of this.
- There will be an opportunity to review your answers once you have completed all sections however, once you select ‘submit’ this is final, and you will not be able to make any changes to your application after this.
- If you are completing the form on a smartphone you may need to turn your phone to landscape to see all the text.
