Ukraine has launched a “massive” drone attack on a Russian military airfield in Rostov, damaging a power substation at the site, local officials reported.
Russian air defence intercepted more than 40 drones targeting the airfield, located around 100 miles from the Ukrainian border, Vasily Golubev, the regional governor, posted on Telegram.
Footage of the incident posted on social media shows a large fireball erupting into the air at night.
Moscow’s defence ministry claimed it had downed 53 Ukrainian drones across five regions in total overnight.
