Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti is determined to keep Ferland Mendy as his first-choice left-back at the club and is not in favour of selling him to make room for Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Despite Los Blancos’ interest in Davies, Ancelotti wants the team to keep Mendy.
It’s reported that Real Madrid’s hierarchy is keen to sell Mendy to make room for Davies and keep Fran Garcia as Davies’ backup.
However, according to Diario AS, Ancelotti is not in agreement with this decision.
The Italian has given Mendy 12 starts in the team’s last 14 matches, and he does not want to part ways with the Frenchman.
Mendy reportedly has to make a decision between a new contract and a permanent departure from Real Madrid this summer, as he only has 15 months left on his current contract.
