The Regent of Ayede-Ogbese, Dr Olufunto Oluyede-Campbell has lamented over the poor state of health and healthcare services in the community, saying priority and adequate attention should be given to the people at the grassroots

The Regent who stated this after her installation and grand reception for the burial of the late monarch of the town, Oba Raphael Ajibola Olaleye Oluyede, the Alayede of of Ayese-Ogbese, said the people at the grassroots deserve good and quality healthcare.

Oluyede-Campell, while appealing to government at levels, said there is need to provide quality healthcare service to the grassroots people as well as provide infrastructure in the community for the wellness of the people

She noted that the increasing urbanisation was stretching health facilities, noting that without committed health investments, current number of health facilities and workforce would not contain the demand for quality health services.

She said: “One of the things that has been a priority to me is health and wellness of the people. And I myself will like to see this town improve in term of good healthcare, having access to primary healthcare.

“ There should be facilities here that will bring good healthcare to the people. Our father always loved the youths because he saw them as the future; education is very important, we want to make sure every child has access to education for good future.

“Government cannot do it alone. I think we all have a part to play; whatever God has blessed us with, we should use it to bless our people and the community.”

The regent, who pledged to join hands with other stakeholders in the community to ensure peace, prosperity and development of the town, promising to build on the legacy of the late monarch in turning the agrarian community to model

“We are going to ensure that peace continued to reign in Ayede-Ogbese and there will be programmers and policies for prosperity of the land.

“This is going to be our plan and purpose for the time I reign as regent and beyond; we will be working towards the progress of sons and daughter including residents of the community.

“The people here will not just be blessed but be a blessing to the entire state; my relatives and I would continue to stand behind the community for its progress,” she promised.

According to her, all the good plans of the traditional ruler who joined his ancestors before his death would be pursued to the letter.

One of the sons of the traditional ruler, Prince Adetunbi Oluyede, said that his father was an epitome of selfless service, saying that his reign was a service to people of the community.

Prince Oluyede said that the late monarch would be missed because of his love and counseling and said “there are a lot to miss in him. I will miss his counsel, his support.

“He was a great comedian. But most importantly as a man of faith, I believe that we will see each other again. My faith teaches that this is just a transition.

“When you really think about it, the legacy he left behind live with every person he encountered in this community.”
