The Federal Executive Council (FEC), chaired by President Bola Tinubu, has approved the formation of a tripartite committee aimed at streamlining visa processes and acquisitions for investors interested in Nigeria.

This decision was announced by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, following the FEC meeting held at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Tuesday.

Minister Idris highlighted the need for this initiative, stating, “Our visa processes are becoming cumbersome… The ease of doing business is also tied to our visa processes.”

“Going forward, those investors, tourists would find it easy to acquire a visa within the next 48 hours,” the minister said.

The FEC meeting, which began on Monday, May 13, and extended into Tuesday, was described as productive, with many important decisions being made.

Minister Idris announced the continuation of the meeting, adding that a lot of far-reaching decisions were being taken and that detailed conclusions would be shared after its conclusion.

He stated, “The council meeting will continue tomorrow, therefore, there will be no press briefing today. A lot of far-reaching decisions are being taken, and the conclusions will be made available to you tomorrow. FEC will continue at 12 noon tomorrow.”
