From Femi Folaranmi, Yenagoa

Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, Governor Douye Diri and the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Dr Sam Ogbuku have commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over his development agenda in the Niger Delta Region.

Mrs Tinubu, who gave the commendation while flagging off Niger Delta Development Commission Medical Outreach at Otuasega community, Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, lauded the collaboration between the Bayelsa State government and the NDDC.

The First Lady, accompanied by the wives of the vice president, Hajia Nana Shettima; Deputy Senate President, Hajia Leyla Barau and Chief of Staff to the President, Mrs. Salamatu Gbajabiamila, gave kudos to the NDDC for also collaborating with the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI).

As part of her visit, she also on behalf of NDDC donated 11 ambulances to select hospitals in the Niger Delta region, commissioned the Otuasega Cottage Hospital Community, Otuasega and donated textbooks and desks to Community Secondary School, Otuasega.

She disclosed that the NDDC and RHI partnership began in 2024 to provide further support in critical areas of development by empowering communities and improving the quality of lives of the people in the Niger Delta.

According to her, “the inaugurated projects will impact the health and education sectors of the state significantly.

“This contribution would significantly aid in saving lives and ensure the various communities receive medical attention when needed.

“All these initiatives are in line with the RHI agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, especially in the areas of education, health, and social investment, which aim to build a healthier, more educated, and empowered populace.”
