Former Abia State governor and serving senator, Orji Uzor–Kalu says President Bola Tinubu is aware of the current hunger in the country and was taking bold decisions to reverse the situation.
Uzor–Kalu stated this on Thursday at Ekoli, Edda Local Government Area of Ebonyi during a New Year visit to the state Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Stanley Okoro-Emegha.
According to him, Tinubu is working hard to reverse the situation, urging Nigerians to be patient with him.
“The President is currently taking hard decisions centered on economic development. The President is very bold to take such hard decisions.
“I might not be bold enough to take such decisions if I was the President as he is telling Nigerians that we should start afresh,” he said.
The ex-Abia State governor explained that he was personally sad over the situation, calling on Nigerians to show understanding.
“We would soon see the big light at the end of the tunnel,” he said.
He said his visit to the state chairman of the APC was an annual one, stressing that it fosters the relationship with Okoro-Emegha, who he termed his ‘political son’.
Emegha in his remarks thanked Kalu for the visit, noting that the bond between them will continue waxing strong.
It was gathered that that Okoro–Emegha was an aide to Uzor–Kalu when he was the Abia Governor between 1999—2007.
