President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and many other prominent Nigerians have applauded the Chairman of the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), Prince Tajudeen Olusi for his role in the development of the state.
The president and other eminent Nigerians hailed the elder statesman at a reception dinner held in Lagos in his honour, even as they equally felicitated with him on the conferment of an Honorary Doctor of Literature in History, Education and Community Development on him by the Lagos State University (LASU).
President Tinubu, who was represented by his Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Media, Mr. Tunde Rahman, described Prince Olusi as a mentor who had groomed many generations of political leaders, saying that the elder statesman remained an individual who was tireless in the development of his community and Lagos State as a whole and a repository of wisdom.
Governor Sanwo-Olu, in his address, said the celebrant had led various political parties for about 60 years and was worth celebrating.
According to Sanwo-Olu, Prince Olusi had been committed to the development of Lagos State ensuring that the different arms of government in the state worked harmoniously for her progress.
He described Olusi as a leader who speaks truth to power and shows younger politicians the way to go.
Also speaking, the Secretary of the Planning Committee, Dr Seyi Bamigbade, commended dignitaries at the occasion for gracing the event in honour of Prince Olusi.
He noted that such honour was better done when the national icons were alive, urging Nigerians to find time to celebrate their leaders.
Dignitaries at the event included the Speaker of the Lagos State Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa, other state and national lawmakers, associates and family members of the celebrants.
Prince Olusi is a former councilor, and former member of the House of Representatives. He is also former Chairman, Lagos State chapter of Social Democratic Party (SDP), and later National Vice Chairman of defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN).
