President Bola Tinubu is currently presiding over the ECOWAS 66th Ordinary Session of the Authority of Heads of State and Government.
The meeting is taking place at the Banquet Hall, Presidential Villa.
The bloc is contending with the exit of Mali, Niger Republic and Burkina Faso, all being ruled by military juntas in contraction of the ECOWAS Protocol.
The issue is expected to by high on the agenda for the leaders’ deliberation.

The three countries have described their exit from the ECOWAS bloc as irreversible.
The Authority will also dwell on the security in the subregion and the need to fulfill financial commitments to the body to effectively tackle the myriad challenges besetting it faces.
President Tinubu, as the chairman, had stressed the need for members to be up to date in their contributions in recent meetings of the group.
