President Bola Tinubu hosted the Chinese Minister of Foreign Affairs, Wang Yi, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Thursday.
Yi, who is a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, is currently in Nigeria for a two-day working visit.
During the meeting, discussions are expected to focus on the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed at the 2024 Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation held in China. Additionally, key topics such as the economy, politics, and the oil and gas sectors will be covered.

After the meeting, Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, alongside Yi, is expected to address the press.
Also in attendance were the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila; the Minister of Information, Idris Mohammed; and Tuggar, among others.
