A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State, Chief Ayirimi Emami, says President Bola Tinubu is not the cause of the hunger in the land.
He made the assertion while addressing journalists at Ubeji, Warri South Local Government Area, on the occasion of the Ologbotsere Day Celebration.
Chief Emami, who, however, acknowledged hardship in the land, said hunger was part of the problems the president inherited from his predecessor.
He attributed the cause of the hardship to the “wrong foundation” President Tinubu inherited in 2023, which he is now battling with.
According to him, though protest is an ingredient of any democratic process, the organisers of the planned nationwide protest against hunger are going about it the wrong way.
The business tycoon advised the willing protesters to be cautious in their actions and peaceful about them.
“Anything contrary to that will make your planned protest stupid,” he averred.
He added that they should not allow hoodlums to hijack the protest, pointing out that the president is working out modalities to tackle hunger head-on as well as ensure that the citizens have better welfare.
