Minister for Works, David Umahi, emphasised that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is deeply committed to the development of the South East and urged the people to support his government for success.
Umahi made these remarks at the grand finale of the Local Government APC rally held at PA Ngene Oruta Township Stadium in Abakaliki over the weekend.
He also announced that the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road will include a route passing through Ebonyi, alongside ongoing infrastructure projects on other major roads in the region.
Umahi urged the governors and other party leaders in the Southeast to intensify efforts to bring every stakeholder on board, positioning the region rightfully in national politics.
The Minister acknowledged facing challenges and criticisms for his decision to join the APC but expressed gratitude that the party has gained widespread acceptance in the state and the Southeast.
He extended appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for supporting him during legal challenges following his party switch and commended Senator Anyim for his support of the APC during the 2023 elections.
Umahi recounted, “President Tinubu invited me to meet with a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, personally driving me to the meeting in his car.”
