In a bid to ensure that his Renewed Hope Agenda gets across to the masses, President Bola Tinubu has directed the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) minister, Nyesom Wike, to construct more roads in the nation’s capital, Abuja.
Wike disclosed this on Saturday while inaugurating the completed 5-kilometre access road connecting Saburi 1, 11 and Dei-Dei International Market.
It would be recalled that the Nigerian Tribune had reported how Wike had on Jan. 21, 2024, flagged off construction of the 5-kilometre access road.

The minister who told the residents of Saburi that President Tinubu has directed him to extend the road from Dei-Dei International Market to Life Camp, also assured residents of the territory of even development in the city and satellite towns, adding that in the 2025 budget, every area council will have one road project.
He said: “Just like the chairman said when we came here last year to flag off this road project. You know the usual thing. They say “after flag up, what next? It will be an abandoned project every time.
“But I told you ours would not be the same. We will not flag off any project and abandon the project.
“Now, Mr. President has directed this Dei-Dei market road, to be reconstructed to Life Camp. So that the market can come back to what it used to be, as an international market.
“So be assured, in the next one month, we will flag it up. And I can assure you, before the end of next year, like this year, we will come back and commission again.
“You remember, when we came here, the original contract did not carry streetlights. But now that you are close to the city, I have told the coordinator to tell the contractor to make sure that they put streetlights in all these roads.
“I want to assure you, in this 2025 of our budget, every area council will have one road project.”
