President Bola Tinubu officially launched the reconstruction of the 125-kilometer Benin-Asaba Highway on Sunday, an event that was met with widespread celebration from the community.
Represented by the Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, President Tinubu stated that the project, which is set to be completed in 30 months, will significantly boost trade and economic activities in the Niger Delta region.
He emphasized that the highway construction will enhance transportation efficiency between Edo and Delta States.
The Benin-Asaba Route is a 125km Highway, stastarting from AIF Roundabout (Benin) to Summit Junction (Asaba) which serves as a major link between the south-East, South-South and some parts the South-West of Nigeria.
The route connects two states- Delta and Edo States, with Benin and Asaba t being the capital of Edo and Delta States respectively, as the route connects vibrant economic regions of the country.
