President Bola Tinubu departed Lagos on Tuesday for Pretoria to attend the inauguration of South African President Cyril Ramaphosa.
The Nigerian leader left the presidential wing of Muritala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, at approximately 11:06 am on a Dassault Falcon 8X aircraft.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, his deputy, Obafemi Hamzat, and other government officials escorted the president to the airport.
Presidential spokesman Ajuri Ngelale stated that Tinubu would be attending the inauguration of Ramaphosa following his re-election for a second term.
The Tribune Online reported that Ramaphosa was re-elected for a second term after the African National Congress (ANC) managed to form an unprecedented coalition government.
President Tinubu is expected to return to Nigeria after the ceremony.
