President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Pastor Tunde Bakare, the founder of the Citadel Global Community Church, on his 70th birthday.
In a statement released on Monday by his Special Adviser on Information & Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu praised Bakare for his service to the nation, describing him as “one of Nigeria’s most influential voices.”
The statement partly read: “Pastor Bakare, a distinguished lawyer, pastor, leader, author, advocate for good governance, and politician, has made significant contributions to Nigerian society.
“He founded The Latter Rain Assembly, now known as The Citadel Global Community Church (CGCC).
“On this occasion, the President joins Pastor Bakare’s family, friends, and the Christian community in celebrating his profound impact as a religious leader and gadfly.”
Tinubu also commended Bakare’s patriotic efforts in advocating for a better Nigeria, noting his leadership within the Save Nigeria Group.
“As a co-convener of the Save Nigeria Group (SNG), he was instrumental in leading civil demonstrations during critical periods in our nation’s history.
“The President recognises Bakare’s unwavering faith and relentless dedication to advancing vital causes for the betterment of society. He describes Pastor Bakare as one of Nigeria’s most influential voices,” the statement added.
On this milestone, the President extended his best wishes for Bakare’s health and long life.
“President Tinubu wishes him robust health and many more years of service in the Lord’s vineyard and in advancing our beloved nation,” the statement concluded.
PUNCH Online reports that Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu also congratulated Bakare, describing him as a “faithful servant of God, transformative leader, and tireless advocate for good governance.”
