President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has approved the appointment of Dr. Haruna Abubakar Shehu, Medical Director, Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Kafanchan, Kaduna State; and Dr. Ali Mohammed Ramat, Medical Director, National Orthopaedic Hospital, Azare-Hawul, Borno State.
Minister of State for Health, Dr. Iziaq Adekunle Salako, handed over the appointment letters to the appointees in Abuja, at the weekend, urging them to align with the avowed commitment of the Federal Government to improve access to quality healthcare services.
He informed the new appointees that the President expects the highest level of dedication from them.
“These are new hospitals, so obviously you will face some teething problems. Kafanchan is very special to Mr. President because of his keen interest in that part of Kaduna State. You know he has also established a Federal University in that Senatorial district in view of his special interest.”
He demanded their unwavering dedication and, determination towards projecting the agenda of Mr. President in the health sector, urging them to relate very well with all the stakeholders in the community.
“They are the owners of those facilities, so let us relate very well with them. Of course, you should also relate very well with the Ministry through the Hospital Services Department. So, being the Chief Medical Director of a new facility, which could be demanding, I believe you are up to the task. My prayer is that you will succeed in every ramifications”, Dr. Salako admonished.
In his vote of thanks, , Dr. Abubakar Shehu Medical Director FMC Kafanchan, Kaduna State, expressed their sincere gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for the appointment and trust reposed in them.
He pledged their dedication and commitment to excellence , in ensuring the agenda of Mr. President for the health sector is achieved.
