About 100 main and secondary college lecturers employed by the Rivers State Authorities have staged a protest on the Authorities Home in Port Harcourt over alleged exclusion from the N100,000 Christmas bonus accepted for civil servants by Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
The protesters claimed that different civil servants within the state have obtained theirs together with their December 2023 salaries, however puzzled why they didn’t profit from the bonus.
Previous to the Yuletide holidays, Fubara accepted the bonus for every civil servant, a growth which ignited wild jubilation from the employees and each the Nigeria Labour Congress and the Commerce Union Congress within the state.
