The Taraba State Government has officially renamed the Government House in Jalingo, the state capital, after former Minister of Defense, General Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma.
The building, which serves as the state government seat of power, as observed by Arogidigba Global Journal, will now be known and address as the T.Y. Danjuma House.
The renaming was announced on Friday by Governor Agbu Kefas during a special ceremony in Jalingo, the state capital.
Highlighting the former minister’s significant contributions to Nigeria and his vital role in the development of the state, Kefas applauded Danjuma for his dedication to national service, philanthropy, and his commitment to the people of Taraba.
It would be recalled that during recent legislative session, members of the state House of Assembly, attached their decisions to collectively passed the bill seeking to rename the government House after Danjuma, to his massive contribution to the development of the state.
Visibly elated by the decision of the state government to rename the seat of power after him, the retired general
expressed his gratitude and called on Nigerians to set aside differences and work toward the country’s rapid progress.
He also emphasized the importance of unity and peaceful coexistence across political, tribal, and religious lines.
Danjuma, was also observed to have urged the people of the state to rally behind Governor Agbu Kefas and support his administration’s efforts to advance the state’s development.
