A group known as the Tantita Security Service Special Volunteer Force, also called Tantita Security Ambassadors, has commended Tantita Security Limited’s Managing Director, High Chief Kestin Pondi, for providing employment to over 25,000 youths across various Niger Delta ethnic groups.
The group also lauded his humanitarian efforts, including welfare distributions during the Yuletide season, highlighting his dedication to corporate social responsibility and grassroots community development.
This was stated in a communiqué signed by the group’s Coordinator, Comrade (Engr) Efe Feludu Kwakpovwe; Secretary, Barr. Andrew Efole; and Public Relations Officer, Comrade Stanley Umukoro, on behalf of the Tantita Security Service Special Volunteer Force.
The group congratulated High Chief (Engr) Kestin Pondi on receiving a recent Award of Excellence for his contributions to community development and welfare.
The award was presented at the Kurutie Annual Amafinide Uge Festival, recognising his innovative approaches to security management, which have enhanced safety, fostered economic growth, and improved the region’s overall development.
The group highlighted several accolades earned by Tantita Security Services under Pondi’s leadership, including Vanguard Newspaper’s award for excellence in crude oil infrastructure security and recognition by the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) for contributions to peace and the fight against oil theft.
Tantita Security has played a pivotal role in curbing crude oil theft and pipeline vandalism in the Niger Delta.
The group also praised the collaboration between Tantita Security Services, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), and other security agencies.
These efforts, spearheaded by High Chief Government Ekpemupolo (Tompolo) and supported by Pondi, have significantly increased Nigeria’s crude oil production to 1.808 million barrels per day, as announced at a stakeholders’ meeting in November 2024.
According to the group, before Tantita Security’s engagement in 2022, Nigeria’s crude oil production had plummeted to 939,000 barrels per day due to vandalism and criminal activities, causing economic and environmental challenges.
The organisation’s efforts have reversed this decline, restoring Nigeria’s position within OPEC.
Tantita Security Ambassadors consist of over 1,000 volunteers, including former student leaders, youth leaders, oil and gas experts, medical professionals, and activists.
They work with Tantita Security Services Nigeria Ltd to promote awareness against oil theft, pipeline vandalism, environmental pollution, and youth restiveness, contributing to the sustainable development of the Niger Delta region.
