He stated, “The media plays a significant role in informing the public about government policies and programs. They also contribute to ensuring good governance in the country. For this reason, I urge media professionals to be diligent in their responsibilities.”
He encouraged the new general manager to implement innovative ideas to justify the confidence placed in him by Governor Umaru Bago.
The leader of the delegation and Zonal Manager of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Minna, Alhaji Mohammed Baba- Busu, urged the Niger State Government to ensure the digital transformation of its booster stations to FM band for more effective information dissemination.
He pointed out that the AM transmitters were outdated, and as a result, the public no longer tunes in to them.
Baba-Busu explained that digitalising all state-owned radio stations to FM would enhance information dissemination and improve the state’s revenue generation.
He urged the government to support the new leadership in overcoming challenges and adopting better broadcasting methods.
In response, the new General Manager of Niger Media Corporation, Malam Mohammed Kolo Ewun, expressed his commitment to revitalize the corporation’s sub-stations across the state.
He thanked the governor for his appointment and pledged not to fail in his duties. Kolo-Ewun assured that he would work towards positively transforming the organization for effective service delivery, providing timely, accurate, and engaging programs that would promote peaceful coexistence in the state.
