The All Progressives Congress, APC, has responded to an allegation leveled against it by the Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde.
Arogidigba Global Journal reports that Makinde had during an event in Ibadan, the state capital, blamed the ruling APC for the turmoil in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and other opposition parties in Nigeria.
Reacting, APC urged the PDP to take responsibility for its failure and stop accusing it of the crisis in the opposition party.
APC, in a statement issued on Sunday by its National Publicity, Felix Morka, urged the opposition party to do soul-searching and address its problems.
The statement advised Makinde to focus on his primary assignment of providing good governance to the people of Oyo State.
Morka warned Makinde against accusing fingers at APC for the “rot in his party.”
“They should take full responsibility for their disgraceful failure to handle the party’s implosion and decay,” the statement added.
There are reports that Makinde, who would be completing his second term in office, is aspiring to run for the presidential election in 2027.
