A former governor of Sokoto State, Alhaji Attahiru Dalhatu Bafarawa, has called on leaders, especially the federal government, to sort out issues bordering on insecurity to improve the standards of living.
Bafarawa, also a former presidential candidate, while speaking with newsmen in his house on Tuesday, said once the question of insecurity is resolved, there is a tendency for an improved economy.
He called on every Nigerian, irrespective of party affiliation, religion, or ethnicity to always pray for the success of leaders and the country at large.
“The current hunger in the land is due to insecurity in the country, and once that is tackled, it will definitely improve the economy, and our people will live better,” Bafarawa observed.
The ex-Sokoto governor also expressed his disappointment at some of the leaders who have refused to leave the stage for the young ones since the return of independence in 1999.
