Suspected Fulani herders have reportedly killed an Ogbomoso-based Pastor identified as Segun Adegboyega.

The incident as reliably gathered occured on Monday, at the deceased’s farm located at Gege village on Ogbomoso-Iseyin road.

Investigation further revealed that three persons have been arrested in connection with the killing, and they have been moved into the custody of the Owode Police headquarters.

Meanwhile, the Soun of Ogbomosoland, Oba Ghandi Olaoye, has appealed to the people of the town to remain calm over the incident, assuring that those responsible for the killing would not go unpunished.

In his address on Monday evening, after the incident, Oba Olaoye assured the family of the clergyman that he would ensure justice is done.

The monarch said, “As your father, I wish to say, this is an ugly situation and it is uncalled for. I have spoken my mind to the Area Commander of Owode Police headquarters, who is here with me and I want to assure you that justice would be served. I equally sympathize with every one of you, may God continue to watch over you and the entire land of Ogbomoso.”

As of press time, efforts to get police reactions were proved abortive, as Police Public Relations Officer, Adewale Osifeso’s mobile number was not reachable.
