Super Eagles defender, William Troost-Ekong is facing a race to be fit for the rest of the tournament after missing Nigeria’s final group game against Guinea-Bissau.
Troost-Ekong reportedly suffered a hamstring injury in the first half of that game, according to aclsports.com.
According to the report, the 30-year-old has been unable to train with the rest of his teammates since after the Ivory Coast match and has been working separately on his own with the ball at the Police College, Cocody, Abidjan.
It is expected that Troost-Ekong will continue to undergo treatment with the hope he recovers before Nigeria’s last-16 tie.
