Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi A. Sule on Wednesday distributed 30 tractors, operational vehicles, and motorcycles to Local Government Areas, as well as State and Federal Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
The distribution ceremony, held at the Government House in Lafia, highlighted the administration’s commitment to bolstering grassroots development and improving inter-agency efficiency.
Speaking at the event, Governor Sule emphasized the critical need for local governments and MDAs to be well-equipped to fulfil their mandates. “This initiative is part of our continuous efforts to enhance government functions at all levels. By providing these essential tools, we aim to enable our local governments and ministries to deliver services more effectively,” he stated.
Governor Sule further highlighted the security benefits of the distribution, noting that operational vehicles and motorcycles would play a crucial role in supporting security personnel to cover more ground and respond swiftly to emerging threats.
“Strengthening security across Nasarawa is a priority for us, and these vehicles will enhance patrols and improve response times, especially in rural and remote areas,” he added.
The governor urged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the equipment, emphasising accountability. “These resources are provided with taxpayer funds, and we expect all recipients to deploy them responsibly and transparently in the service of our people,” he concluded.
