The Sokoto State Police Command has launched an in-house refresher training programme aimed at enhancing discipline, professionalism, and service delivery among its personnel.

The training, which commenced on Monday, April 22, 2025, aligns with the strategic vision of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, to reposition the Nigeria Police Force for greater effectiveness and public trust.

Speaking at the opening session held at the Command Auditorium along Gwandu Road, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Musa, represented by the Deputy Commissioner in charge of the Criminal Investigation Department, underscored the significance of the exercise in reinforcing officers’ ethical standards and operational competence.

The sessions are designed to focus on critical aspects of modern policing, including professional ethics, public civility, and emotional intelligence during high-pressure situations. The initiative reflects the IGP’s renewed drive to elevate the Nigeria Police Force to global standards of law enforcement.

In a statement, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Ahmad Rufa’i, reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to ongoing personnel development.

He noted that the training would be delivered in phases to ensure that all officers are adequately equipped with the necessary skills for people-oriented policing.
