An Abuja-based Lawyer, Silas Onu has emerged because the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Get together (PDP) for subsequent month’s bye-election for Ebonyi South Senatorial zone displacing Senator Amah Nnachi.
Mr Ama Nnachi represented the zone from 2019 to 2023 and was the candidate of the get together for the 2023 basic election however misplaced to former Governor David Umahi.

In keeping with Rotimi, Mr Onu, polled 143 votes out of the 144 votes forged whereas one vote was declared invalid.

In his acceptance speech, Mr Silas Onu counseled the electoral committee for an unbiased officiating of the election.

Mr Onu will contest for the seat with All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate, Anthony Ani who emerged on the weekend from the get together’s personal primaries.
