Otunba Segun Showunmi, a chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has called for active participation in shaping the Nigeria’s future.
This is contained in his new year message released to journalists in Abuja today.
According to the statement the dawn of the new year brings renewed hope and aspirations to homes across Nigeria, celebrating the strength and potential of women and youth in national building.
“To the youths and women of Nigeria, I wish you a Happy New Year filled with hope, love, and renewed determination,” Otunba Showunmi said. “You are the heartbeat of our nation, and together, we will chart a course for a brighter future.”
Showunmi also used the occasion to spotlight the National Opposition Movement, a groundbreaking initiative poised to serve as a powerful voice for Nigerians. Rooted in the principles of equity, good governance, and national development, the movement aims to unite Nigerians in pursuit of a progressive and inclusive future.
“This movement is for all Nigerians who dream of a better tomorrow,” he said. “It is a platform to amplify your voices, address your concerns, and ensure that your aspirations for a just and prosperous Nigeria are realized. Expect great things from us as we work tirelessly to serve the best interests of our nation.”
The National Opposition Movement has already garnered widespread support from citizens, non-governmental organizations, and advocacy groups, including The Nation Builders and Reformers Organization, which has endorsed its vision of reform and progress.
Speaking on this support, Otunba Showunmi added, “The overwhelming backing we’ve received reinforces our commitment to this cause. With the collective efforts of Nigerians and dedicated partners like The Nation Builders and Reformers Organization, we are ready to drive meaningful change.”
The statement explained that his message to youths and women underscored the movement’s focus on empowering marginalized groups, promoting transparency, and fostering economic opportunities. “We understand your challenges, and we are here to ensure that your voices are heard and your needs are met. Together, we will build a Nigeria that works for everyone,” he affirmed.
As Nigeria steps into 2025, I call for unity, resilience, and active participation in reshaping the nation’s destiny. “This New Year, let us reflect on our shared dreams and commit to making them a reality. The journey ahead is promising, and with your support, we will achieve greatness.”
