Vice President Kashim Shettima has faulted those laughing over the depreciation of the naira.
Speaking in Abuja, the Vice President said Nigerians should have come together to work towards recovering the country’s economy.
According to Shettima: ”It is not only disheartening and disenchanting but also heartbreaking that yesterday when the naira plummeted to N1500 to the dollar.
“Instead of us to coagulate into a single force and salvage our nation’s economy, sadly, some clowns are celebrating on Twitter of an impending implosion of the Nigerian economy.”
Arogidigba Global Journal recalls that the naira depreciated on Tuesday, crashing by 42 per cent against the US dollar in the foreign exchange market in two days.
Data from FMDQ showed that the naira further plummeted to an all-time low of N1,482.57 per US dollar on Tuesday from N1,348.63 on Monday.
