Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, hosted Lagos youths and key stakeholders at an Iftar dinner, fostering dialogue and community engagement during the holy month of Ramadan.
Iftar, the evening meal that marks the end of daily fasting during Ramadan, served as an avenue for Tinubu to engage with young people and political leaders, reinforcing his commitment to youth empowerment and national unity.
Tinubu, as contained in a statement on Saturday, was received at the Ikeja Central Mosque by top Muslim clerics, who commended his ongoing philanthropic efforts and his contributions to various communities across religious divides.
Speaking at the gathering, Tinubu highlighted the significance of Ramadan as a time for reflection, compassion, and strengthening communal ties.
He reaffirmed his commitment to supporting initiatives that empower young people in Lagos and beyond, adding his dedication to engaging with young Nigerians and fostering national progress.
He emphasised the importance of unity, resilience, and youth empowerment in nation-building, urging attendees to remain committed to positive societal change.
“We must continue to work together to build a nation where every young person has the opportunity to succeed,” he said.
The officiating cleric, Sheikh Abubakir Mohammed Solaty, urged Tinubu to continue championing initiatives that fostered peace and socioeconomic development across the country.
“All well-meaning Nigerians will continue to support Mr. President’s reforms agenda for the nation,” Sheikh Solaty stated.
The event was attended by a group of young leaders under the aegis of the Young Progressives in Lagos State, political appointees, and other interest groups from the Southwest region.
Tinubu’s visit to Lagos was part of his ongoing engagement tour, which had taken him to several northern states since the beginning of Ramadan.
His entourage included Minister of Youth, Ayodele Olawande; Director-General of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria Charles Odii; and Executive Vice Chairman of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure Khalil Suleiman Halilu.
Also present were key members of the Lagos State House of Assembly, led by Deputy Speaker Mojisola Meranda and House Committee Chairman on Youths, Olamiju Akala.
