Former Napoli striker Cristian Bucchi has expressed his admiration for Victor Osimhen and claimed he is one of the best strikers in the world.
Osimhen scored 26 goals in 32 appearances to help Napoli win the Scudetto for the first time in over three decades last season.
Despite being hampered by injuries this season and missing around a month early this year due to international duty, the forward has scored 12 goals and provided three assists in 19 league appearances for the reigning Serie A champions.
Bucchi praised Osimhen for his impressive displays since his arrival at the club.
“Osimhen, for me, is one of the best strikers in the world, because he brings together extraordinary physical characteristics: speed, elevation, excessive power,” he said, per Napoli Magazine.
“Over the years he has grown a lot, he scores a lot of goals, he weighs a lot in terms of the number of goals and is therefore decisive.
” Lastly, it is the attitude: I am someone who observes a lot, I take clips of the attitudes of the players, especially the most important ones. Every time there is a pass for Osimhen he turns and claps his hands with his teammate, one of the most beautiful things ever.”
He also added: “Osimhen is a champion today and if he shows himself with humility and at the service of the team, he will encourage the rest of the team. I don’t know if he will stay in Naples, but he is certainly among the five best in the world.”
The 26-year-old is widely tipped to leave Napoli at the end of the season.
Chelsea, Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain are among the front runners for his signature.
He has a buyout clause of around €120 to €130m in the new contract he signed last December.
